Ryans of Blanchardstown appointed SsangYong Dealer

'Ireland's Best 141 Deal' kicks off Ryans Garage SsangYong offer.

To coincide with the return of SsangYong (meaning 'double dragons') to the Irish market, Ryans Garage in Blanchardstown has been appointed as main dealer. Founded as a family business 50 years ago, Ryans will be placing emphasis on selling new SsangYong models at attractive prices, right in the heart of Dublin 15.

Called 'Ireland's Best 141 Deal', Ryan has announced a limited time only offer on the flagship Korando SUV. Starting at an attractive €24,995, it includes one year's free road tax, a full four years' servicing and a €1,000 price drop. Aimed squarely then, at entry level Nissan Qashqai pricing.

The Seoul based company had its fair share of financial woes, until bought by Indian's Mahindra after a 70 per cent buyout in February, 2011. With it came solid investment and much better looking models than we've seen before. The new front-wheel drive Korando, for example, is a sharp looking five-seat compact crossover, available in three different trim levels (read our road test of it here).

"I'm particularly delighted to have been appointed a dealer so soon after the Korando Commercial has been named Continental Irish Commercial SUV of the Year 2014 - it really proves that this new franchise is bringing something of relevance to the Irish market", said Niall Ryan, Director of Ryans Garage.

Anything else?
Other new models will appear soon; these include a new Rexton W and just-launched seven-seat Rodius. SsangYong has ditched the old Mercedes-Benz engines and now has its own four-cylinder diesel offering 149hp and 360Nm of torque. The Korando comes in two guises, Korando SUV and Korando Sport, the latter a a double cab, flat bed pickup. Both look likely to offer attractive entry level packages to the compact SUV space in Ireland.
