Mondello Park clearly reckons that the end of the recession is in sight as it has just launched an exclusive club designed to create track day experiences for supercar owners. Called Platinum Track Club, it picks up where the now-defunct VIP track days programme left off, and is designed to give owners of high-end sports cars the chance to see what their precious wheels are really capable of in a controlled environment, and away from the hoi-polloi masses of hot hatches and tweaked Japanese cars that make up other track days.
Costing just €100 a year to be a member of, the Platinum Track Club members will get a special membership card with which they can book spaces at one of four special events planned for the year. The package includes classroom and on-track tuition as well as the chance to give that Porsche/Ferrari/Maserati/Aston Martin (delete as applicable) its head on the 3.5-kilometre International Circuit. Each member can bring along a guest to the day and, of course, tea, coffee and refreshments will be served. The first Platinum track day will take place on March 28th.
Mondello reckons that the time is right to re-launch such a VIP experience as it has observed an increasing amount of high-end machinery mixing it in during general track days at the Kildare circuit.
