New details for hot Kia concept

More information about Kia's GT4 Stinger rear-wheel drive concept including what's under the bonnet.

More details of Kia's GT4 Stinger concept have been released ahead of its show debut in Detroit. There's also a new teaser photo.

The picture doesn't show much more than the previous teaser images, but it does show off the wrap-around windscreen, bonnet vents and wide wheel arches, as well as the yellow paint.

Under the 'Ignition Yellow' bodywork there is a turbocharged, 2.0-litre, direct injection petrol engine dubbed T-GDI. This feeds 315hp to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. The wheels are 20-inch aluminium alloy items with carbon fibre inserts 'for strength and weight reduction'.

Behind the wheels are Brembo Gran Turismo two-piece, cross drilled brake disks and four-piston callipers. Underlining the serious performance credentials of its creation, Kia has given the GT4 a custom chassis with double wishbone suspension.

Full details will be revealed when the GT4 Stinger is unveiled at the North America International Auto Show on 13th January.
