RIAC Classic Car Show returns this March

RIAC says 36 Classic, Veteran and Vintage clubs taking part at RDS this year.

A welcome return of the popular RIAC National Classic Car Show is set for March 2014. Supported by AXA Insurance, a record number of 36 clubs will be in attendance. This is a significant increase from the 18 clubs that exhibited at the inaugural show in 2012.

Doors open on Saturday 1st March and continue through to Sunday 2nd March at RDS Simmonscourt in Dublin. Last year's show was so popular that the RIAC have taken the entire expansive RDS Simmonscourt complex to accommodate all of the clubs, cars, exhibitors and supporters.

"Following the success of the 2013 show, the decision was taken to organise the event again in 2014 after which it will be held every second year alternating in the RDS with the Bike Show", said show director Bob Montgomery.

Along with a totally new selection of vehicles on display, the organisers say the event provides the ideal opportunity for classic and historic car enthusiasts to meet and get advice. Plus, locating that impossible to find spare part will be easier, too. This year the show features an autojumble, which has become a mainstay of international classic car shows worldwide.

Anything else?
The two-day show aims to attract families and includes entertainment with a special Road Safety Authority (RSA) 'Street Smart Kids' interactive learning feature. This RSA initiative aims to promote road safety for the 5 to 12 year old age group. Either way, if you have an interest in the rarest and most beautiful cars ever built, there's only one place to be on the first weekend in March this year.
