Red Bull X Challenge for GT6

Get driving tips from Sebastian Vettel plus two new cars in a free update to driving game Gran Turismo 6.

Gran Turismo 6 has only recently gone on sale but Polyphony Digital has already released details of an update and it includes two new Red Bull cars and the Red Bull X Challenge. Infiniti Red Bull Racing collaborated on the package that features 2013 Formula 1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel mentoring players.

Gamers can now buy the Red Bull Racing Kart and Red Bull X2014 Junior from in-game dealers. Future updates will feature Red Bull X2014 Standard and Fan cars. Adrian Newey, Red Bull's Chief Technical Officer, collaborated on the design of the racing machines. A second phase of the X Challenge is also planned for a future GT6 update.

The free update is described as an end of year gift for Gran Turismo fans. Kazunori Yamauchi, President of Polyphony Digital Inc, commented; "We are very grateful to Adrian Newey, Sebastian Vettel and Infiniti Red Bull Racing for providing this special gift for Gran Turismo fans. To be taught how to drive downforce cars by the best racing driver in the world is very special and the new Red Bull X2014 cars are another exciting addition to Gran Turismo 6. This is the latest update for the game and there are more to come."

Sebastian Vettel added; "I've been playing Gran Turismo since I was 12, so to appear in the game myself as a mentor is great. I hope everyone enjoys the game."

Other features included in the update are two seasonal events that run from 20th December to 17th January and from 2nd to 30th January. Bonus credits can be earned by playing these events that have been designed to mark the holiday season.
