Jaguar F-Type coupé for LA

Jaguar launches the F-Type coupé at the Los Angeles auto show.

Jaguar will unveil the F-Type Coupé on 19th November, the eve of the Los Angeles auto show. A photo showing the car from directly above has been released to whet our appetites. Full details will be available from the 20th of this month.

It is two years since Jaguar hinted at its plans for a small coupé by unveiling the C-X16 at the Frankfurt motor show. The biggest change from concept to production is the addition of a glass roof panel, although we don't know if this will be standard or an option when the F-Type goes on sale.

Although it has a lot in common with the F-Type convertible, including the range of V6 and V8 engines, the coupé is said to be lighter, stiffer and even more driver focused. Jaguar describes it as 'the most dynamically capable, performance-focused, production Jaguar ever'.

Anything else?
Ian Callum, Jaguar's Director of Design, said: "The excitement generated when we revealed the C-X16 concept was terrific; so to now be on the cusp of what I can assure you will be a drama-filled reveal event in Los Angeles for F-Type Coupé is a very significant moment.

"We've been overwhelmed by the positive reaction to F-Type Convertible, but for me the purity of creating a sports Coupé is a uniquely satisfying process - and I know that both visually and dynamically, F-TYPE Coupé raises the bar yet again."
