Subaru concept announced

All-new Subaru Levorg makes its world debut at the Tokyo Motor Show

Subaru has announced that it will be showcasing an all-new model at the forthcoming Tokyo Motor Show next month. The concept is called the Levorg which is said to come from the words 'Legacy', 'Revolution' and 'Touring'; and is set to be released in Japan next year. So what is it? Well the teaser shots you see before you are all we have to go on at present. We can see from the profile that it has the body of an estate car, but also prominent styling creases around the wheel arches to give it a sportier image. The eagle-eyed ones among you will also notice the small roof spoiler at the back, and small kink in the bonnet that could end up as an air scoop. Unofficial sources suggest that the Levorg will look to replace the outgoing Legacy with that of a more premium and sporty offering. With sportiness naturally comes a powerful engine; but Subaru has chosen to fit the Levorg with a brand new, but smaller, 1.6-litre Boxer engine featuring direct injection turbo (DIT) technology. The company claims that this unit will lead to smooth power delivery as well as improved efficiency when hooked up to Subaru's legendary Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system. The new engine will also feature in its own right at the show as a technological display.

Anything else?
The 2014 Subaru Levorg will be revealed in full on Wednesday 20th November at the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show. It will also be joined by the Cross Sport Design and the seven-seat Crossover 7 SUV concept on the Subaru stand.
