New-look Laguna cheaper to tax

The Renault Laguna will receive a facelift and more efficient engines in time for the 2011 registration.

Renault has released a set of images showing a facelifted Laguna hatchback and Sport Tourer estate. The new-look model will debut at the Paris Motor Show this month (September). It is assumed that the new Laguna will go on sale in Ireland in time for the new 2011 registration.

The front of the Laguna has been restyled in a bolder, more substantial manner, while the interior looks to feature new materials and options, including Carminat TomTom Live satnav and a Bose sound system.

Renault claims that all engines are now Euro 5 compliant, while also boasting reduced CO2 emissions. The Laguna dCi 110 model emits 10g/km less than before - at 120g/km - allowing it to move from Band B to Band A for tax purposes.

Full pricing and specifications will be released closer to the on-sale date.
