New-look Peugeots at Frankfurt

Updated Peugeot 3008 and 5008 to feature at Frankfurt show.

Peugeot is continuing to renew its model line-up by showcasing facelifted versions of the 3008 and 5008 at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. As well as a visual overhaul, both models will receive refreshed interiors, more equipment and the latest powertrain options.

Exterior
In essence, both cars have received the same treatment on the outside. Peugeot's new signature floating grille now resides up front and LED 'claws' are found at the back. Both these features bring the two models in line with Peugeot's current design language; with the aim of making them instantly recognisable as part of the Peugeot brand.

Interior
Whilst full equipment details are scheduled to be revealed closer to the cars' launch, we do have a few snippets of information to give you now. First up, the 3008 now features a full-colour head-up display as well as a reversing camera (unlikely to be standard across the line-up). We also know that the model's split-folding tailgate will remain in the new version. The 5008 will still feature seating for seven, with three ISOFIX child-seat anchors present in the middle row. A special edition 5008 Family Style is also planned for launch, featuring two seven-inch colour monitors located in the back of the front-seats' headrests - complete with two Bluetooth wireless headphones.

Mechanicals
Once again, like the interior options, Peugeot plans to divulge the 3008's and 5008's engine line-up later on this year. What we do know now is that the 3008 HYbrid4 diesel electric power plant will be continued. The set-up features a 163hp 2.0-litre HDi diesel engine hooked up to a 37hp electric motor. The result is a four-wheel drive 3008 that develops 200hp, returns a quoted 83mpg and emits just 88g/km of CO2.

Anything else?
Both the revised Peugeot 3008 and 5008 are destined to go on sale this December. Prices have yet to be confirmed, but both models will be making their world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this coming week.
