Nissan previews new X-Trail

Frankfurt debut for Nissan X-Trail - and more.

The Nissan stand at Frankfurt should prove to be a popular one at this year's IAA, as two debuts will make their way to the show. As well as this, Nissan will also be showcasing its latest personalisation initiative.

New SUV
Nissan has done very well to keep its new production model under wraps before its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The facts we know about the mysterious model behind the teaser shot above are so few that they could be written in just one sentence. Nissan claims that the new car intends to "reinvent the SUV", and should be one of the event's star attractions upon its unveiling on 10th September. See?

Friend-Me
No, this isn't a plea from the world of social networking; this is the name of Nissan's new design concept. The striking-looking four-seater creation will be making its European debut at the Frankfurt show; and will give us an insight as to what we can expect to see on forthcoming Nissans. The exterior features many angular shapes throughout, and incorporates a 360-degree glasshouse as well as an incomplete C-pillar design. Inside, the cabin continues the futuristic look, with most of the car's controls accessed via a tablet-style centre console. The cabin is also said to be "fully-connected and fully-interactive"; as the Friend-Me "integrates passengers into every journey".

Personalisation
The Nissan Personalisation Programme currently offered for the popular Juke model is to be extended to both the new Micra and new Note. In addition, the Juke will have even more colour options and accessories on its options list. The expanded programme will launch officially at the Frankfurt show, in conjunction with an all-new 3D web configurator to make sure that each bespoke model looks right from every angle.

Anything else?
All these efforts are part of Nissan's desire to be the top Asian car brand across Europe by 2016. The company's ambitions do seem to be coming to fruition though, as Nissan already takes the crown in the UK, France, Spain and Italy. Last year the brand also attained record market share across Europe; with claims that this will be repeated this year.

The latest Nissan offerings and more will be on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show that opens on 10th September.
