Audi creates virtual film star

Audi fleet shuttle quattro to star on big screen.

The upcoming movie "Ender's Game" will play host to the first purely virtual Audi ever created for a feature film.

The car in question is dubbed the 'Audi fleet shuttle quattro' and is every bit as futuristic as the movie in which it's portrayed. By working closely with the film's production team as well as director Gavin Hood Audi was able to use its virtual vehicle in the movie without the need for a physical model or prototype. In reality, it's almost a shame that the design never reached physical form because it truly is a stunning thing to behold.

"Designing the Audi fleet shuttle quattro was similar to customising a tailor-made suit," commented Frank Rimili, Chief Designer for the Ender's Game project. "We adapted it for the world of Ender's Game while taking care to preserve our brand values. We were ultimately able to perfectly project our design into the fictional world of the movie."

Anything else?
The Ender's Game feature film is based on its award-winning novel counterpart that was written by Orson Scott Card back in the early '80s. In the movie a hostile alien race has attacked Earth, and humans are training their best students in preparation for the next attack. The lead character, Enders Wiggins, shines at Battle School and eventually leads his fellow soldiers into a battle to save both Earth and the human race.

The Ender's Game is expected to premiere in Ireland in October.
