Bumper July for Mazda

Mazda6 and CX-5 proving popular, but Mazda3 still selling well.

Buried in between all the new car stats released after the bumper 132 period was a large growth for Japanese manufacturer Mazda.

With total sales of 287 units for the month of July, Mazda claimed a 2.4 per cent market share and, more significantly, increased sales by a whopping 291 per cent on the same period last year.

"July's strong retail performance signifies the start of a positive growth period for Mazda in Ireland.  Our new Mazda models represent a huge development for the brand in terms of design, build quality and engine technology,"  according to Tony Howarth, Managing Director, Mazda Motor Ireland.  "We are receiving feedback from Mazda Retailers nationwide that the strength of our new cars is attracting many more new conquest customers to the brand than in recent years, "

"By the beginning of 2014, I believe Mazda will have one of the strongest product portfolios in the Irish market, ensuring consistent, and more importantly, profitable growth for Mazda in Ireland." continues Tony.

While the recently introduced Mazda6 and CX-5 accounted for 135 sales between them the biggest seller of the Mazda range remains the 3, clocking up 100 sales on its own. This is despite the impending introduction of a new model that features similar SkyActiv technologies as the latest additions to the range.
