Fastest Peugeot ever to debut next month

Peugeot's 260hp RCZ R makes its production debut in July.

Extracting 260hp from its 1.6-litre THP engine, the RCZ R is the most powerful production model in Peugeot's history and the car is set to make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Previewed by the RSZ R Concepts that were shown at the Paris and Geneva Motor Shows, the performance flagship will debut 100 years to the day since Peugeot demonstrated its performance prowess by winning the French Grand Prix - coming first and second.

Two red RCZ Rs will be displayed on the Peugeot stand and also driven by UK Peugeot 208 GTi Ambassador, Bradley Philpot - a competitor in the recent Nürburgring 24-hour race.  And Philpot should feel right at home, as with bespoke suspension, a Torsen limited slip differential and racing wheels the RCZ R is closer to the class winning Nürburgring race car than anything that has come before it.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed opens on July 12.
