More efficient Mondeo

Changes to the Ford Mondeo mean lower emissions for reduced running costs and more equipment for improved value for money.

Ford has upgraded the Mondeo with changes to the 2.0-litre Duratorq diesel to improve economy and cut CO2 emissions.  Levels of standard equipment have also been increased; the range starts at €23,950.

Re-calibration of the diesel's engine management, combined with optimised aerodynamics, has reduced emissions by 10g/km, putting the saloon at 119g/km and the estate at 120g/km.  As a result these models now sit in the A4 road tax band, costing €200 a year.  Fuel consumption has improved from 4.6- to 4.9litres/100km.

Other Ford models that share the 2.0-litre Duratorq motor will also benefit from reduced emissions; the Galaxy and S-MAX are now rated at 139g/km.

Changes to equipment levels on the Mondeo include 16-inch alloy wheels and Ford 6000 CD/Radio system as standard on the entry-level Graphite version.  Zetec models come with a seven-inch touchscreen SD Navigation system, heated windscreen and Bluetooth with voice control.  A full leather interior, parking sensors and SD Navigation PLUS are all included on the Mondeo Titanium Plus.
