Updated Toyota Corolla goes on sale from €19,995

Revised Toyota Corolla arrives with lower emissions and additional standard equipment.

The popular Toyota Corolla has undergone a midlife facelift with revised exterior styling, lower emissions and the introduction of stop-start technology.

Up front there is a redesigned bumper, radiator grille and headlamps. Out back it's more of the same with new lights and a revised bumper with integrated reflectors. Together they give the 2010 Corolla a fresh appearance.

Power folding door mirrors are now standard as is an improved interior, flat bottomed leather steering wheel and mp3 audio connection. Air conditioning is also standard on the Terra trim with the elite Sol specification featuring a rear view mirror with an integrated monitor that displays an image from the rear view camera.

Engine choices are a 97hp 1.3-litre petrol unit or a 88hp 1.4-litre turbodiesel. The former now comes with start-stop technology and a six-speed manual transmission helping to reduce CO2 by 25- to 133g/km. The 1.4 D-4D diesel has a particle filter as standard helping to achieve a CO2 rating of 125g/km, resulting in both engines residing in tax band B with annual road tax of €156.

Prices for the 2010 Toyota Corolla start at €19,995 for the 1.3 Dual VVT-i Terra version and it's now on sale.
