The deal is offered through Volkswagen Bank, which provides finance across the Volkswagen Group. According to Paul Burke, Operations Director for Volkswagen Group Ireland, potential customers have been struggling to find finance. Volkswagen's own deals are said to offer a more attractive and flexible finance option.
As an example, a Polo, list price €14,745, would cost €249 over 36 months after a €5,781 deposit. The minimum deposit required is ten per cent.
In addition to traditional Hire Purchase the bank also offers Personal Contract Plans. The up! is available with an APR rate of 1.99% while the Polo, Golf, Jetta and Tiguan attract 4.90% APR.
