Honda SUVs for Chinese show

Auto Shanghai will play host to two new Honda concepts.

Honda will unveil two concepts, including one from its luxury division, Acura, at the Shanghai Motor Show later this month.  Details are limited but the Honda design study has a hint of MPV about it while the Acura offering has more of an SUV appearance.

Both vehicles preview production models: the Honda is intended for the Chinese market while the Acura is described as a global model.  It is possible that the upmarket arm of Honda will expand its range of crossover vehicles from two to three with a new compact model.

Honda's concept has a similar outline to the company's Odyssey MPV, but slightly lower and sleeker.  It is not the only people carrier Honda is launching in Shanghai; a production model similar to the Concept S shown at the Beijing Motor Show last year will also be on display.

The theme of the company's stand at Shanghai will be Honda's brand slogan in China, 'Initiate new actions to create new things and carve out the future'.
