Dacia continues its new model roll-out at the Geneva Motor Show with the Logan MCV. The new estate model will look to rival similar offerings from the likes of Peugeot and sister company Renault. Prices are likely to undercut the competition when it goes on sale.
Exterior
Being a budget model, the designers certainly haven't given the Logan MCV a flamboyant look. The design language matches that of the Sandero, giving it a clean, modern, honest appearance. The front end does sport an attractive lip spoiler however, and Dacia has rounded off the rear to avoid it looking too boxy. Roof rails come as standard, too.
Interior
Like the exterior, no unnecessary toys have been added inside. Hard wearing, functional materials have been used to trim the interior; and Dacia has added plenty of cubby space in the dashboard and doors. Further up the range you'll find parking sensors, cruise control and an integrated satnav system.
Mechanicals
Two petrol units and one diesel engine will be available from launch. The 1.2-litre petrol versions come in turbocharged and non-turbocharged forms, offering 90- and 75hp respectively. The forced induction unit manages an impressive 56.5mpg, with emissions recorded at just 116g/km of CO2. However, the 1.5-litre dCi unit is even better, giving a 74.3mpg economy figure and emissions of just 99g/km. The Logan MCV also comes equipped with a selectable Eco Mode, which helps it achieve these figures.
Anything else?
Standard safety features include ESC, ABS and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA). Prices and specifications for the Irish market have yet to be announced.
