With one eye clearly on its target of 50,000 sales by 2015, Maserati has announced that its most hardcore model, the MC Stradale, will soon be offered as a more practical four-seater rather than a caged two-seater. The new Gran Turismo MC Stradale will debut at the Geneva Motor Show alongside the Quattroporte, which is making its European debut.
Exterior
Visually there will be little to separate the four-seat Stradale, as both cars wear body kits inspired by the Maserati Trofeo Championship race car. The eagle eyed will be able to differentiate the models by the four-seater's new carbon fibre bonnet with central air scoop.
Interior
Besides the choice of some new materials, the fitment of two rear seats where a roll-cage would have previously resided is the only difference.
Mechanicals
The GranTurismo MC Stradale benefits from the latest iteration of Maserati's 4.7-litre V8 engine.The naturally aspirated unit debuted in the GranTurismo Sport and its 460hp is 10hp more than that which powers the two-seater. The engine is mated to a six-speed robotised manual gearbox and gives the Gran Turismo MC Stradale a top speed of 302km/h. Good thing then that carbon ceramic brakes are fitted as standard.
Anything else?
No word yet on pricing for the Maserati Gran Turismo MC Stradale, but it is expected to cost slightly north of the the standard car's price.
