New Irish Motor Industry Awards

SIMI announces new Irish Motor Industry Awards.

The Irish motor industry will celebrate its recovery over the past year, with the new Irish Motor Industry Awards programme.

Promoted by the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) and sponsored by Castrol Professional, the awards are now open for entries from any franchised dealership in the country. The deadline for entries is 10 September 2010 via www.irishmotorindustryawards.com.

Alan Nolan, Director General of SIMI, said: "Although the motor industry has been struggling with enormous challenges over the past two years, there are still some remarkable successes in the sector, as businesses have adapted to the downturn through innovation and an increased customer focus. We want to recognise the achievements of those who have excelled during a very difficult period and we believe that the whole industry will benefit from celebrating such positives from the last year."

Awards will be given in retail operation, after-sales operation, innovation, franchised dealership and to an unsung hero of the year.

The awards ceremony will take place at Killashee House Hotel in Naas, Co Kildare on 16 November 2010, during the SIMI Annual Conference.
