Unique Jaguar XJ75 unveiled

Celebrating the marque's 75th anniversary is the rather bling XJ75 Platinum Concept.

Jaguar has produced a one-off, design-led concept version of the XJ saloon, unveiled in Pebble Beach this weekend.

Dubbed the XJ75 Platinum Concept, it's finished in Satin Matte Pearlescent White and features black detailing, which is designed to imitate the look of platinum metal.

Black 22-inch alloys and bespoke front, rear and side sills complete the exterior changes. The concept also sits lower than the standard XJ.

It's even more theatrical inside. A bespoke clock built by the Bremont Watch Company occupies the centre console and the air vents are finished in pearlescent white with matching veneers and stitching.

Power comes from Jaguar's 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine with a meaty 470hp and 575Nm of torque.

The sound system is equally potent. It's a 1,200-watt Bowers & Wilkins surround sound affair, with 20 speakers powered through 15 channels and state-of-the-art processing technology.

The XJ's chief designer, Giles Taylor, said: "On the inside, we played up the XJ's combination of high-end materials and British flair to really have some fun."

Full production is unlikely, but if the raft of styling changes goes down well with punters, they could find their way onto the existing XJ.
