No reserve on Rathdown Motors Auction

Over €1 million worth of cars to be auctioned before Christmas.

Anyone looking for a new car should head down to Rathdown Motors in Terenure, where Merlin Car Auctions will be auctioning off the dealership's entire stock at the beginning of December. Over €1 million worth of cars are going to auction after the company announced closure earlier this month - following 25 years in the business.

Of the models on sale, 16 are brand new 2012 registered cars; featuring an Audi A4 TDI, an A8 TDI quattro, Fords, Hyundais, Volvos and Volkswagens. The remaining used lots include a BMW X5 in black, a Mercedes-Benz CLS and S-Class, along with A5 and A6 model Audis. Most of the used cars are less than four years old. As every item is going under the hammer with no reserve we are expecting to see some serious bargains.

The cause of the company's closure is cited as the decline in demand in the car industry over recent years. Even though Rathdown has received significant investment, it wasn't enough to save it.

All cars on sale will be available for viewing at the Rathdown Motors Dealership on Friday 30th November and Saturday 1st December. For those unable to get to the auction, the sale will also feature online at www.merlincarauctions.ie/online - where buyers must register before participating.
