Jaguar tells us more about the F-Type

New video and engine details for hot new Jaguar roadster.

Jaguar announces production ready F-type will debut at Paris... not long now.

After what seems like an age, waiting, watching and hoping, Jaguar has finally announced that the production F-Type is due to be unveiled at this year's Paris Motor Show.

We'll have to wait until the 27th September for that first look, but to whet our appetites until then the firm has released some technical details of the forthcoming roadster. Said to be a return to form, and harking back to the E-Type of the sixties, the F-Type will be exclusively rear driven.

And despite the inclusion of stop-start and eight-speed automatic gearbox the F won't be short of horses. Three petrol engines will be available at launch: an all-new 3.0-litre supercharged V6 with either 340- or 380hp and a revised 5.0-litre V8 also featuring forced induction, probably with somewhere around 500hp.

That should be enough for a 0-100km/h time of around four seconds - the 27th of September can't come soon enough.
