Mazda teases new 6 Estate

New Mazda6 Estate will debut at Paris Motor Show.

Mazda's all-new 6 Estate has been unveiled at a ceremony to celebrate the beginning of the car's production. The early showcase of the new estate ahead of its Paris Motor Show debut next month mirrors that of the saloon - a model that was partially revealed before its Moscow Motor Show launch later this month.

Exterior
The classic estate look adopted by the previous Mazda6 has gone for the new model. In its place lie a more sloping roofline and a heavily tapered tailgate, with lines similar to that of the new Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake. Front end styling is expected to match that of the saloon, dominated by a large front grille with chrome detailing running into the car's headlights.

Interior
Details have yet to be released about interior trim; however Mazda states that the new model will have 'luxury feel and comfort' and will sport the company's new KODO 'Soul of Motion' design. Yeah, that was just filler...

Mechanicals
Mazda's 162hp 2.0-litre petrol engine was fitted to the unveiled model, with 150- and 175hp versions of a 2.2-litre turbodiesel also available. Emissions as low as 105g/km are achieved for the new 6 thanks in part to a new stop-start and brake energy regeneration system called i-ELOOP. The model will also incorporate the full range of the manufacturer's SKYACTIV engines, transmissions and chassis.

Anything else?
The new Mazda6 Estate will officially debut at next month's Paris Motor Show, with both saloon and estate guises going on sale early next year.
