Land Rover signs deal with Bowler

Extreme off-roaders to have closer ties with Land Rover tech team.

Land Rover has officially agreed a brand partnership with Bowler - the company responsible for building a range of Land Rover based rally cars like the Wildcat and Nemesis - thereby formalising a relationship that has been in place for over a decade.

Under the agreement Bowler will benefit from better access to powertrain and chassis engineering parts as well as additional technical and development support from Land Rover. In return Land Rover is hoping that its engineers will be able stretch themselves creatively and technically on an extreme performance-orientated programme that brings further knowledge to the core road-going Land Rover range.

Mark Cameron, Land Rover Brand Experience Director, Global Marketing, said: "Bowler vehicles demonstrate the kind of performance, ride, handling and chassis dynamics that a vehicle powered by Land Rover is capable of when taken to the extreme and liberated of most practical constraints."

The partnership will see Bowler cars, including its first road car, the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 powered EXR S, wear "Powered by Land Rover" badging to acknowledge the role that Land Rover technology plays in the performance and success of Bowler products.  The "Powered by Land Rover" branding will also be highlighted in joint events and promotional activities.
