Jaguar Land Rover enjoying sales success

Sales of Jaguar and Land Rovers buoyed by success of XF and Evoque.

Proof, as if it was needed, what a difference some new models can make, as Jaguar Land Rover Ireland reports that it has accumulated combined sales of over 800 vehicles up to the end of May - an increase of nearly 40 per cent versus the same period last year.

The increase is mainly down to the launch of the new XF 2.2 Diesel - which gives Jaguar a genuine contender to German manufacturers so dominant in the sector - and the Range Rover Evoque, which has breathed new life into a brand probably most closely associated with the heady days of the financial boom.

"The increased demand for both Jaguar and Land Rover demonstrates the unique desirability and strength of our products," commented Gerard O'Farrell, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Ireland.

This growth comes against a backdrop of a downturn in the motoring industry with sales down 8.8 per cent on 2011 with May down 12.9 per cent on May 2011.
