Sporting SEATs star at Wörthersee

Hot versions of the Leon and Ibiza star alongside the new FR line SEAT Mii.

In addition to the Mii FR concept SEAT will use the annual Volkswagen Group love-in known as the Wörthersee Festival to highlight the brand's sporting credential.

Having made its debut at the Auto China Show in Beijing the Ibiza Cupra concept will take its European bow on the banks of the Austrian lake. Set to be the focal point of the SEAT stand the Cupra concept is a near production ready model that will enter showrooms by year end. Powered by a 180hp version of Volkswagen's 1.4-litre TSI engine the Cupra model sports aggressive styling with an oversized trapezoidal air intake, 17-inch gloss black alloys and Spice Yellow paintwork.

Appearing alongside the Ibiza concept will be road going versions of the slightly tamer Ibiza FR and the hottest road car SEAT produces, the Leon Cupra R. The two cars are designed to showcase the range of options available from SEAT and are finished in Nevada white paint with contrasting black rims.

Bathed in identical grey paint with fluorescent orange detailing the racing versions of the Ibiza and Leon are the final pieces in SEAT's Wörthersee puzzle. While the Ibiza SC Trophy boasts the same power output from its 1.4-litre TSI engine, it has been extensively reworked to optimise its track performance. Aimed at amateur racers the €31,000 (excluding taxes) hatchback features racing suspension, lightweight 18-inch wheels and an interior stripped of all but the essentials. As too is the €63,000 (excluding tax) Leon Super Copa. The 250km/h racer is powered by an uprated version of the 2.0-litre TSI engine that produces 300hp and 340Nm. Power is fed to the front wheels via a six-speed DSG gearbox and a locking differential.
