Volkswagen extends free tax and insurance offer

Free tax and insurance on everything from the up! to the Touareg - over 25s need only apply.

Volkswagen has announced that it is to extend its free tax and insurance offer - originally launched in April - until the end of June. The move comes as the German brand celebrates being number one in the Irish market in April.

Customers who purchase a new Volkswagen from May through to the end of June will have their car insurance included free of charge for twelve months, underwritten by Allianz plc, and also have their motor tax paid for the year. There is one small condition however: buyers must be 25 or over to avail of the free insurance offer.

"This is a no-brainer for Irish motorists. Motor tax and insurance is always a considerable cost factor for consumers when they consider purchasing a car," commented John Donegan, Head of Sales and Marketing for Volkswagen Ireland. "We are taking the pain of that cost away for twelve months and allowing them to focus on their car choice without having to scrutinise their already stretched budgets."

The offer is available across a range of Volkswagen cars, from the up!  to the Touareg SUV.
