AMG Merc CL leaks out

The wraps have been taken off the upcoming CL 63 and CL 65 AMG models earlier than Mercedes-Benz intended.

These are the pictures Mercedes-Benz didn't want you to see just yet. It's the forthcoming CL 63 and CL 65 AMG.

Although an official release is expected soon, these images, leaked onto the internet recently, show the AMGs' more assertive styling over their regular CL brethren.

The 63 AMG ditches the chrome in favour of new mesh grille at the front, as well as more angular headlamps, beefier side skirts and square quad-exhaust tailpipes, with 19-inch alloys. The 65 adds chrome, oval exhaust finishers and features 20-inch wheels. Both cars boast the now seemingly obligatory LED day-time running lights.

As these images are leaked, those in Stuttgart are keeping the full specs under wraps, although the 63 will likely feature the new, twin-turbo, seven-speed 5.5-litre V8, instead of the naturally aspirated 6.3-litre, packing an estimated 540hp. The 65 is expected to retain the previous model's 6.0 V12, with 611hp.

The new AMG models are expected to make their debut at the Paris Motor Show in September.
