Second F1 car confirmed to race in Dublin

Caterham joins McLaren as second F1 team confirmed for Bavaria City Racing Dublin.

The hype surrounding Dublin Bavaria City Race, a five-hour motoring nirvana on the streets of Dublin, has just stepped up a notch with the news that the Caterham F1 Team has been added to the line-up.

Caterham F1 counts experienced drivers Heikki Kovalainen and Vitaly Petrov amongst its team and will join Vodafone McLaren F1, the Aprilia Superbike team, the Motorbase British Touring Car team and the MINI Cooper WRC outift for the blast between the start line at the Convention Centre and finish line at O'Connell Bridge.

"We are absolutely delighted to be taking part in the Bavaria City Racing event in Dublin in June. It is going to be a fantastic event and you don't have to be an F1 fan to be excited about seeing our car, and all the other teams taking part," commented Riad Asmat, Caterham Group CEO. "The noise alone around the streets of Dublin will be incredible and we can't wait to get over to Dublin and show our friends in Ireland what F1 is all about."

The Bavaria City Race takes place on Sunday June 3 and is a predominantly free event expected to attract crowds of 150,000 people. Of the three ticketed premium performance zones the O'Connell Bridge is already sold out but tickets are still available for the Customs House Quay and main paddock located on North Wall Quay. Tickets are priced from €75.90 and are available from Ticketmaster.
