Custom Volkswagen pick-up made for 'freestyle kayaking'.

What is it?

An extreme version of the already rough and tough Amarok pick-up truck from VW. The Canyon edition is specifically configured for 'freestyle kayaking', which means there's a rack for some canoes, chunky tyres and a raised body. There's also some bright Baladi Orange paint on the outside and two-tone leather inside.

Why's it here?

It's here to demonstrate just what can be done with your Amarok - the styling and accessory options available from the firm mean it can be tailored to whatever application is needed. Europe's still not the biggest of pick-up markets, but the car-like Amarok has as good a chance as any of changing that - especially with funky models like this one.

Show stopper or floor filler?

It's a floor filler in terms of the Volkswagen stand I'm afraid - the Cross Coupé and up! show cars are more significant to the brand, the public and the event as a whole. Still, a bright orange pick-up will bring out the inner kid in most grown men.
