In what was hailed as the best sponsorship deal in the history of the club, Sligo Rovers this week announced a new two-year sponsorship deal with Connolly Volkswagen. The deal will see Connolly Volkswagen act as main sponsor and marketing partner of the club with the logo of the third-generation family owned dealership displayed on the Bit O' Red jerseys.
Speaking at a photo call at Rovers' facilities at The Showgrounds, Neil Connolly, dealer principle at Connolly Volkswagen, said "I am delighted with our sponsorship of Sligo Rovers, we are a local business and are so pleased to have the opportunity to sponsor our home club. Both the staff and the customers of Connolly Volkswagen are avid fans of Sligo Rovers and we look forward to the season ahead."
The sentiment was echoed by both Simon Elliott, Group Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Ireland, and Sligo Rovers chairman Michael Toolan, who were "happy" and "thrilled" with the partnership.
