Based on the three-door Evoque Coupé, the Convertible retains the looks that have made the new baby Range Rover so popular and merely replaces the roof with a fully retractable soft-top complete with a Roll Over Protection System (ROPS). When retracted the hood is housed beneath a discreet tonneau cover behind the rear seats.
Inside, the four-seat concept is packed with leather seats, surround cameras, Park Assist, an eight-inch dual-view touch screen and a sound system from Meridian. While it may look like the most lifestyle orientated Range Rover, Land Rover is at pains to point out that 'The vehicle has been developed with Land Rover DNA at its heart, retaining key characteristics including a command driving position and all-terrain capability.'
Land Rover will gauge reaction to the Evoque Convertible at the Geneva Motor Show before deciding whether or not it will enter production. If (when) it does hit showrooms it will join the Nissan Murano Cross-Cabriolet in offering crossover capabilities with the wind in your hair.
