Jaguar’s oft-controversial new all-electric super-saloon, the Type 01, has stirred up the sort of debate, delight and division that you’d normally associate with modern art, so perhaps it’s appropriate that this four-wheeled Picasso will make its Irish debut in an art gallery as part of Dublin Gallery Weekend 2026.

Which Dublin gallery will be hosting the Jaguar Type 01?

The Type 01 will be on display at the Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA) on Ely Place in Dublin. The Jaguar’s arrival is part of Dublin Gallery Weekend, an event designed to “invite audiences to discover Ireland’s contemporary art scene through exhibitions, artist talks, art trails, workshops and citywide cultural collaborations”. The Type 01 will be shown off in a ‘curated gallery’ at the RHA for the occasion.

So is the Jaguar Type 01 officially art now?

Well, why not pop along to the RHA and make your own mind up? Eddie Kavanagh, Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover Ireland, said: “Dublin Gallery Weekend is the ideal stage to celebrate fearless creativity and original thinking, values that define Jaguar. This partnership emphasises Jaguar’s purpose as an advocate for art and creativity in all its forms. We’re proud to support such an important cultural event as we celebrate Jaguar’s new era.”

What’s under the skin of the Jaguar Type 01?

You can check out Dave’s full preview video of the Type 01, but the quick catch-up version is all-electric power from three motors, producing 1,035hp, with a 0-100km/h time of under four seconds and an official range of 720km. Ultra-fast charging can add 321km of range in just 13 minutes.

Is the Type 01 a proper Jaguar though?

That depends on your definition. We tend to have a ‘wood-and-leather’ image of Jaguar as a brand, but if you look back atits history, the E-Type was a true ground-breaker, drawing on Jag’s Le Mans racing experience for its aerodynamics and performance, while the 1975 XJ-S coupé looked and drove like nothing else on sale at the time.

When can I see the Jaguar Type 01 on display?

Dublin Gallery Weekend takes place from Thursday 5 November to Sunday 8 November 2026. The RHA is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 5pm, and on Sundays from noon to 5pm.
