Hang on, doesn’t Citroen have something way more exciting for Paris?
Yes, it does — Citroen is going to reveal the new electric 2CV to the world in Paris, and it will be an affordable competitor for the likes of the Renault Twingo and Hyundai Inster, not to mention being paired (under the skin) with a new Fiat Panda.

So what do we know about this new Citroen 2CV?
We know about as much as I’ve told you just there, other than that it will embrace the sort of retro-look styling that has made the likes of the Renault 5 E-Tech and the Fiat 500 such a success.

OK then. The Outdoor lineup is Citroen having a go at meeting the rugged likes of the Dacia Duster and Bigster head-on with its affordable C3 and C3 Aircross. Citroen has even gone to the trouble of creating a cartoon character, called ‘Migoo’ whose “imposing attitude and face as expressive as it is endearing embodies a spirit of adventure, discovery and freedom, with that touch of mischief that makes him instantly likeable.”
Sounds a bit ‘Poochie’ to us…
Yes, we see what you mean. Anyway, more importantly, the Outdoor versions of the C3 and C3 Aircross get more significant changes than a cartoon character’s face embroidered onto the seats. Both cars get new front bumpers, with an ersatz ‘skidplate’ section for a 4x4 look. The Aircross also gets new low-set front fog lights, while both cars get new rear bumpers and there are also new clip-on colour inserts in a colour called ‘Infra Rouge.’
What other styling changes have there been?
On the sides, you’ll find a new grey plastic panel which acts as both a door protector and, for the C3 Aircross, a place for the word ‘Aircross’ to be picked out, along with — on both cars — the face of that Migoo character. There are new 17-inch alloy wheels, with a Citroen chevron logo on an Infra Rouge background, and a new colour option too — Sequoia Green.
What about the inside of the Citroen C3 Outdoor models?
The cabins of both cars get new front seats, which use Citroen’s Advanced Comfort cushions, but which get a new pattern and that Migoo face logo. There’s lots of contrast red stitching everywhere, red seatbelts, and the Outdoor logo plastered on the dashboard.
What engines are available on the C3 Outdoor models?
The Outdoor versions of the C3 and C3 Aircross get the same power options as the regular lineup, so there’s a basic 100hp petrol engine, a more powerful hybrid, and fully electric eC3 and eC3 Aircross models which come with official ranges of 323km and 400km, respectively.
