Hang on — so every Opel is going to be a GSE now?
No, don’t be silly. Opel is simply treading a familiar path worn by other car makers — Mercedes with AMG-Line, Ford with ST-Line, BMW with M Sport — and will offer GSE Line body kits, alloy wheels and styling add-ons for regular Opel models.

Which Opel model gets GSE Line first?
First up will be the Opel Astra, which was updated this year with a rounder nose treatment across the lineup. GSE Line will debut at the upcoming Paris motor show on the new Astra and will include new contrast-colour aero panels on the lower front bumper, complete with GSE Line badges, a deeper, more sculpted rear bumper and diamond-cut alloy wheels in either 17- or 18-inch sizes.
Any GSE stuff for the interior?
Yes, there is. The seats, steering wheel, door inserts and centre armrest all get flashes of the distinctive bright yellow signature GSE colour, including contrast stitching for the steering wheel, and there are aluminium pedals too. The Astra can also be specified with high-backed GSE bucket seats. Nice.
Which other models will get the GSE Line treatment?
The Corsa and Mokka are definitely getting GSE Line options, and we’d be amazed if the Grandland doesn’t get the same add-ons. Maybe even the Frontera, too?
Opel will also bring the Mokka GSE rally car and the new Opel GSE 27FE Formula E racing car to the Paris stand, to draw a direct link between GSE Line kits and the company’s electric motorsport commitments.
Finally, Opel has hinted that a new concept car will be unveiled in Paris as well.
