Kia cee'd gets new look

Kia will launch an all-new cee'd later this year.

The seven-year warranties have not even run out on the original cee'ds but already Kia is ready to replace it. The new car, set to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, comes five years into the current car's life cycle and is completely new from the ground up car - rather than just a rehashing of the existing model.

Based on the recently launched Hyundai i30 underpinnings little information is revealed about the car other than the new cee'd 'is a technically sophisticated, highly competitive, C-segment entry wrapped up in Kia's award-winning design and industry leading seven year warranty.'

The five-door model, shown in the only image Kia has released, will be available across Europe from the second quarter of this year with Irish deliveries expected to begin in the summer. An SW badged estate version is likely to follow later in the year ahead of the three-door coupé/hatchback pro_cee'd in early 2013.

Kia is currently focusing its attention on vehicle aesthetics so we don't expect any ground-breaking electric or hybrid drivetrains yet - just the usual array of conventional petrol and diesel units.
