Is the MG Cyber going into production?
For the moment, there is no official confirmation as to whether the Cyber will go on sale. It's more of a preview of what a D-segment (large) SUV coupe could look like if MG decides to give it the green light.
The profile features a cab-rearward design with a full-width light strip spanning the car's leading edge with two triangular lights rising up from either side. Air is ducted through the front of the bonnet via discreet channels that exit through deep scallops before flowing over the windscreen. Within the lower section of the front bumper are two large inlets painted in a contrasting white.

MG has spoken about how it intends to blend innovation with design, so above the windscreen is a LiDAR panel that would form part of an advanced driver assistance package with some autonomous capabilities. MG has announced plans to introduce more autonomous features, including parking and Navigate on Autopilot (NOA), in 2027, which will enable hands-free driving on motorways.
A large MG badge on the front wings helps create a large vented area that channels air down the car's flanks towards its bulging rear haunches. The car's rear echoes what its face says, with a wide light bar and an inverse version of the lights that point downwards at the massive diffuser in the bumper.
Speaking at the unveiling of the Cyber, MG's Vice President of Global Design, Jozef Kabaň, said: "Great design begins with people, not products. Technology and innovation are essential, but they can be shared. Character cannot. The future of automotive design is about creating cars with a strong identity that people instantly recognise and emotionally connect with.
"Great design should spark curiosity, excitement and desire. It should make people stop, smile and want to discover more. Our MG concepts express this vision for the future of the brand. Because great design is never just about the car. It's about people, their experiences and their dreams. Our role is to inspire them and create products that enrich their journey through life.”
When will the MG Cyber go on sale?

For now, there is no confirmation of when, or even if, the Cyber will go on sale. In fact, the interior has not been shown, so for the moment, all we can go on is the exterior design. Were the Cyber to head for production, it is unlikely to do so for a number of years, but it would also see the brand targeting a different customer than it currently does with its existing SUV lineup.
