The Mazda CX-30 is, honestly, one of our favourite compact SUVs, with its hatch-like dimensions and sharp driving experience. Well, now Mazda is making it even better (hopefully) with a handful of small improvements for the 2026/2027 model year.
What changes have been made to the Mazda CX-30?

First up, there's a new Homura Plus model, which Mazda says comes with "additional premium features including upgraded lighting, enhanced comfort equipment and refined interior finishes.” There's also a new Makoto special edition that features a lighter interior colour scheme and majors on traditional Japanese craftsmanship in the cabin trim.
What else is new?

Mazda has also tweaked the CX-30's safety package a little, with an upgrade to the Smart Braking Support (SBS) emergency braking system that now includes improved motorcycle detection and additional turning-across-junction interventions. The secondary collision protection (which helps protect occupants from impacts after the initial one, a common occurrence in multi-car accidents) has also been improved and updated. The adaptive LED headlights have also been updated. When it's fitted, the 360-degree View Monitor parking camera now includes an additional see-through function, improving visibility around the CX-30 in tight spots.
Anything else?

Yes, there are new colour options - Aero Grey and new Zinc Green - which will be available from October production, Amazon Alexa integrated into the infotainment system, and some additions to the MyMazda smartphone app. The engines - 2.5 litre 140hp SkyActiv-G and 2.0 litre 186hp SkyActiv-X - remain the same. Both engine options come with mild-hybrid assistance, and while most models are front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive is available on the top-spec versions. The cabin gets some new interior lighting elements, and there's now the addition of useful load-carrying roof bars for some models.
