Naturally, changes won't be limited to those under the bonnet, with the Veloster Turbo gaining larger alloy wheels, a more aggressively styled front bumper and grille, side skirts and larger rear spoiler and twin round exhausts housed in a re-designed bumper. Simply badged 'Turbo', the Veloster's interior gets the usual high performance upgrades, with more deeply contoured seats, Turbo branding and revised instruments.
The twin-scroll turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine will be mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, both promising 'class leading' economy. Performance should be up with the class best too, with the Veloster Turbo weighing in at just 1,270kg. It's unconfirmed for Ireland as yet, but we expect the Turbo to follow later this year.
