Renault, Dacia and Alpine to ‘electrify’ the Paris motor show

Renault, Dacia, and Alpine are all planning, as they say, to 'electrify' the upcoming Paris motor show, which kicks off at the Port De Versailles exhibition centre in October.

Does that mean they're going to use car batteries to power the show?

No, although it's a rather appealing thought that the PdV centre might be ringed with ranks Renault Scenics and 5s, Dacia Springs, and Alpine A390s all connected to the electric switchboard.

No, the three brands are using 'electrifying' more in the sense of 'exciting', although there's no question that their stands will feature lots of EVs.

What new cars can we expect to see?

That's all still TBC - the show is still six months away after all -, but we can make some educated guesses. Renault itself is promising 'several' new concept cars, and we can potentially infer that those might include previews of the next-generation Megane and Scenic (the Scenic is rumoured to get a range-extender powertrain as well as a pure electric one) and possibly the next-generation Espace, which has already been in part previewed by the R-Space Lab concept.

Renault says its Paris show stand will feature 22 vehicles, evenly split between fully electric and hybrid models.

What's Dacia up to?

We know that Dacia has plans for another fully-electric model, which will platform-share with the incoming new Renault Twingo and will also share the Twingo's affordable, short-ish-range layout.

Dacia has promised another two new all-EV models in the next few years, so Paris might give us some hints about them - one of them will be an electric version of the next-generation Sandero, we know that, but there might also be more news on the development of the teeny-tiny Dacia Hipster.

We'll also get to see more details of Dacia's new Striker estate, which is due for a full unveil in June, but the Paris show will be many people's first time to get up close and personal with one.

And Alpine?

Alpine has confirmed that it will show 'elements' of the new A110, which was originally scheduled to be a fully electric model, but which now possibly might include a petrol hybrid too. Precisely what 'elements' means - bodywork? rolling chassis? - we will have to wait and see, but there may also be some details of the next model in the Alpine range, the new A310 2+2 sports car - a rival to Porsche's 911.

Anything else?

Renault's Pro+ van-making arm will also be in attendance, with the new all-electric version of the Trafic van being the big draw.

When can I see all this?

The Paris motor show kicks off on 12 October 2026.
