Nissan has been promising us for some time that the new generation of Juke was going to have dramatic styling, in keeping with the model's legacy since its original launch in 2010. Well, promise kept...
Wow, that's striking!
It certainly is. The new Juke is recognisably a Juke in its silhouette - keeping a high bonnet leading to a swept-back cabin with a sloping rear roofline and distinct haunches - but the detailing on this new electric Juke is really quite something. There are multiple facets to each body panel, almost as if the Juke hasn't been assembled so much as grown from a crystal.

It's going to be divisive...
It certainly is, but then that's Nissan's plan. The Japanese giant describes the Juke's new look as 'Marmite” and knows that it will put some people off. That's OK though - the two previous Juke generations have built up a solid 1.5-million strong fanbase.
What's underneath?
The Juke uses the same 'CMF-EV' platform as the slightly larger Leaf, which will give it a leg-up in sophistication terms against rivals which are based on smaller, cheaper setups.

That also means that, potentially, the Juke could get the Leaf's optional 75kWh battery pack, which would give it a possible range of over 600km.
It's more likely that the bigger-selling Juke will be the 57kWh model though, with a likely range of around 450km. Nissan still hasn't issued detailed technical specs for the Juke EV, so this is all just guesswork on our part for now.
And the interior?
Again, Nissan is keeping things under wraps for now, letting the Juke EV's dramatic exterior styling do the talking. It should be roomier than the current hybrid-engined Juke (which will be staying on sale alongside this electric version, in a heavily updated form) and it will also likely get the same impressive Google-based infotainment setup as the Nissan Leaf.
What else do we know?

The new Juke will be built in Nissan's vast UK factory in Sunderland, alongside the new Leaf, and Nissan's regional vice president in charge of its European operations, Clíodhna Lyons (yes, she's Irish - she's from Cabinteely in Dublin originally) said: "Juke has always stood for bold design and a willingness to challenge convention. With this third generation, we are bringing that spirit into the electric age. As our first fully electric Juke, it will help us reach new customers while expanding choice across our electrified range.”
When can I buy one in Ireland?
Soon enough. We're still waiting for Irish details and pricing, of course, but it looks likely that the new electric Juke will be on sale by early 2027.
