Citroen, as well as launching the new C3 Aircross compact crossover, has also just launched the new C5 Aircross, a mid-size SUV which also comes in all-electric eC5 Aircross form.
How much is the new C5 Aircross?

It's pretty sharply priced, actually, with the entry-level 1.2-litre 145hp hybrid model starting from €39,300 with a claimed 950km possible on a full tank of petrol. The fully-electric 201hp front-drive eC5 Aircross isn't much more expensive, and starts from €39,939 with a 73kWh battery and a range of up to 520km.
You mentioned something about more range?

Yes, that electric eC5 Aircross will also, later in 2026, get a bigger battery model with 97kWh of energy storage, giving it a potential 680km range and a 230hp motor, but we'll have to be patient as there have been delays in getting that battery pack into production. There'll be a plug-in hybrid model later this year, too.
What's special about the C5 Aircross?

Based on the same STLA platform as its Stellantis Group stablemates, the Peugeot 3008, the Jeep Compass, and the Opel Grandland, the C5 Aircross is pretty stylish, using Citroen's distinctive three-point LED daytime running light signature, and featuring super-cool, super-slim LED brake lights that actually stick out from the bodywork on little aero flicks. As with other Citroen models, it should be hugely comfortable too, thanks to its clever hydraulic bump-stop 'Advanced Comfort' suspension, and ultra-comfy seats that feature deeper, thicker foam than most other car makers offer.
What about the interior?

Sadly, this Citroen loses the three individual rear seats of the old C5 Aircross, but instead, you get more rear space with 51mm extra rear legroom and 68mm more headroom, and those rear seats recline too. There's also a massive 651-litre boot, no matter which variant you're driving, while up front there's a very cool-looking 'waterfall' portrait-style touchscreen on top of the 'sofa design' dash with its subtle fabric elements.
There's a ten-inch digital instrument panel too, while higher-spec models come with a head-up display.
What about standard equipment?

The C5 Aircross comes in three trim levels: You, Plus, and Max. You models get, as standard, rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, dual-zone air conditioning, 13-inch waterfall touchscreen, wireless smartphone charger, automatic LED headlamps and 18-inch alloys for the hybrid model, with 19-inch rims for the electric eC5 Aircross.
Plus models come with front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, keyless entry and start, privacy glass, 'Metropolitan Blue' upholstery with leather-effect and fabric upholstery and eight colour ambient lighting.
Finally, Max versions get 360-degree vision parking assistance with front and rear cameras and sensors, a head-up display projected on the windscreen, matrix LED headlights, power tailgate with hands-free access, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, 'Hype Blue' upholstery with eight-way electric adjustability and memory function driver seat and a heat pump in electric models. All versions come with a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty, three years' roadside assistance, and a free home charger, in partnership with Energia, for electric and plug-in hybrid models.
When can I have one?

The C5 and eC5 Aircross are on sale in Citroen Ireland dealerships right now.
