Can a hot spot be cool? Or is that an oxymoron? Whatever the semantic experts say, Land Rover is looking to London's coolest hot spots for inspiration for a new set of Range Rover special editions.
Hang on while I break out the Monopoly board
Don't bother, as these new Range Rovers are named after fashionable and influential districts of London, not the specific streets you'd find in Monopoly, although we're holding out hope for a Discovery Do Not Pass Go special edition...

Which areas these Range Rovers are named for?
First up, we've got the Range Rover Velar Belgravia and the Range Rover Evoque Hoxton. These will be followed by other editions, the Range Rover Westminster and Range Rover Sport Battersea.

What's a Hoxton when it's at home?
Hoxton is actually in east London, near to the famous Barbican building, and with Shoreditch Park forming its northern edge. It's a neighbourhood that was once fairly run down, but which is now gentrified and very much up and coming.
To turn the Evoque into the Hoxton Edition, Range Rover takes the standard car and adds some discreet Hoxton Edition badges. It then also adds 20-inch 'Satin Gold' wheels with diamond turned contrast, and a 'Platinum Atlas' exterior styling pack.

Inside, there are leather seat facings with contrast stitching, and illuminated Hoxton Edition treadplates with a black brushed aluminium finisher.
OK, and the Velar Belgravia?
Belgravia is old, posh London. It's where you'll find posh hotels, embassies and discreet car dealerships that don't bother to publish an asking price. Buckingham Palace is Belgravia's back garden...
For the Velar Belgravia, Land Rover adds 20-inch 'Diamond Turned Dark Agate' wheels with a 'Satin Black' tinted lacquer, as well as a 'Belgravia Edition' signature badge, black brushed aluminium finishers and special puddle lights.

Inside there's rich leather trim. There's also going to be an even more special Belgravia Satin version, and Land Rover says that only 400 of these will be made, worldwide, featuring a clear satin paint protection film, 22-inch Dark Agate Grey Diamond Turned wheels with Satin Black contrast elements and a black exterior styling pack. Each model gets a '# of 400' plaque inside.
What about the other two?

Well, we don't have any specific details on those, but the Range Rover Sport Battersea Edition looks as if it will come with lots of warm, rich, dark wood inside, while the Range Rover Westminster will have slate grey paint set off by titanium-gold-style trim.
