ESB has opened up a new bank of ultra-fast electric car charging points at the Frascati shopping centre in Blackrock, a popular shopping destination in south Dublin.
How powerful are these chargers?
Amongst the most powerful in the country, with up to 360kW of charging power available, which, depending on your car, is enough to add 220km of range in just ten minutes of charging.
How many chargers are at this new location?
There are four chargers, each with two connectors, allowing up to eight cars to be charged at any one time.
How much does charging cost?
ESB charges 66c per kWh for these very high-speed chargers, but you can defray that a little by signing up for a monthly subscription costing €4.79, which brings the price down to 61c per kWh.
How many charging points does the ESB have now?
Including both slow and fast chargers, the ESB's network now includes around 1,600 charging points. ESB Chairman, Terence O'Rourke, said: The new high-power charging hub at Frascati Centre reflects ESB's commitment to a cleaner, more sustainable transport future. ESB remains dedicated to investing in the charging network and supporting EV drivers with the continued rollout of high-power hubs across the island.”
Viv Gaine, Frascati Centre Director, has welcomed this new community utility, she says, which further enhances the customer experience whilst visiting Frascati: "Our commitment to ensuring we offer high quality retail & destination brands is now greatly enhanced with this latest service installation.”
