Opel's new Frontera SUV has arrived in Ireland with prices starting from €24,606 for the all-electric model.
What kind of range do you get for that money?
Not massive range — 300km from a 44kWh battery — but that's still going to be enough for many people, and if you need more, a bigger-battery version with 54kWh and a 400km range will arrive later in 2026. Both electric versions get the same 113hp electric motor, driving the front wheels.
Is there a hybrid model?

There is, and that's priced from €27,995 (see — the electric version is the cheapest…) which gets you a choice of 100hp or 136hp 1.2-litre petrol hybrid power, with emissions ranging from 118g/km to 121g/km, and fuel economy claimed at 5.3-litres per 100km.
Is there a seven-seat version?
Yes, there is, although the Frontera will launch with a five-seat model, boasting a 460 litre boot, but seven-seat versions will follow on shortly — priced from €33,595 — although only for the hybrid model, not the electric Frontera.
What about equipment?

Standard spec for the basic SC trim includes a ten-inch driver information display plus smartphone station, electronic parking brake and hill assist, LED headlights with automatic high beam, rear park assist, 16-inch painted steel wheels, manual climate control, alarm, cruise control, lane keep assist, forward collision alert, driver drowsiness alert, and speed sign recognition.
Elegance models — priced from €26,480 for the Frontera Electric and €30,095 for the hybrid versions — come with a ten-inch HD touchscreen with navigation, Opel Connect services, DAB radio, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, wireless charger, natural voice recognition, front USB type C connection, rear view camera, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, rain sensing front wipers, automatic climate control, driver and front passenger 'Intelli-seats', a centre console with front centre armrest and hidden storage, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Finally, there's top-spec GS trim, €28,354 for the Electric version or from €32,095 for the hybrid Frontera, which gets front and rear park assist, roof rails, a black roof, high gloss black door mirrors, black front Opel logo, rear privacy glass, power folding rear view mirrors, electro-chrome rear view mirror, LED taillamps and LED foglamps, and side blind spot alert.
