Nissan has announced Irish prices for the new electric Micra hatchback, and it will start from a competitive €25,995.
How does that price compare to the competition?

Pretty well, actually. A Hyundai Inster is a bit cheaper in its longest range form, but is also a smaller car overall. Likewise, a BYD Dolphin Surf and the Micra will be considerably cheaper than the Peugeot E-208.
What kind of range are we talking about?

There are two battery options for the Micra — an entry-level 40kWh pack with a range of up to 317km, or a more expensive (€30,995 is the cheapest) 52kWh battery with a range of up to 416km.
The smaller battery can be fast-charged at up to 80kW power on a DC fast charger, while the bigger battery can cope with up to 110kW.
What models are available?

There's an entry-level Engage version, with the smallest battery, at that €25,995 price. Then there's an Advance version which is €27,995 for the small battery model, and €30,995 for the bigger battery. Finally, there's an Evolve version that comes only with the big battery and is priced at €32,995. All prices are quoted inclusive of grants and rebates.
What do you get as standard?

There's a standard 10.1-inch touchscreen with Google-based software, phone connectivity via NissanConnect, while the standard safety kit is impressive and includes Autonomous Emergency Braking, Emergency Lane Keeping Assist and Lane Departure Warning for peace of mind. A full suite of driver assistance features is also available, including adaptive cruise control and parking support.
“The great thing about the Nissan Micra is that it is instantly familiar. It is a car that has evolved across five generations over more than 40 years. Chances are, almost every Irish family has a Micra memory to share. The all-new Nissan Micra takes things to the next level, making switching into an EV accessible and affordable, safe in the knowledge that this is the one car that you can trust and rely upon to never let you down,” said Seamus Morgan, Managing Director of Nissan Ireland. “This is the start of a new chapter for Micra as an EV and its range of up to 416 kilometres and up to 110kW fast-charging is hugely attractive to anyone who is thinking of making the switch to electric driving. It is agile, comfortable and packed with intuitive technology as standard, and perfectly sized for city use and driving on winding country roads. We have no doubt that it will turn heads wherever it goes.”
