Renault expands Symbioz lineup in Ireland

Renault has expanded its Symbioz lineup in Ireland by introducing two new powertrain options and a more affordable entry-level version. The compact family SUV, which launched late last year, now starts at €31,995 and is available with a mild hybrid petrol engine or a more powerful full hybrid system.

The new TCe 140 version of the Symbioz comes with a 1.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine supported by a 12-volt mild hybrid system. This engine gets a six-speed manual gearbox and has a claimed fuel consumption of 5.8 litres per 100 kilometres and CO₂ emissions of 131g/km. It is available in the new Evolution trim, which is the most affordable Symbioz on the Irish market.

Renault has also added the E-Tech full hybrid 160 powertrain to the Symbioz lineup. This version has a larger 1.8-litre petrol engine and increased electric support, producing 160hp up from the previous 145hp. According to Renault, this version uses as little as 4.3 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres and emits 98g/km of CO₂. This hybrid system also increases the towing capacity to 1,000 kg.

The Evolution trim now includes more standard equipment than before, such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a rear-view camera, parking sensors, cruise control and climate control. This trim is available with both engine options.

For additional features, the Techno version adds Google-integrated navigation, wireless phone charging, adaptive cruise control, and multi-sense driving modes. Higher trims, such as the Techno Esprit Alpine and Iconic Esprit Alpine, feature additional technology and luxury enhancements, including heated seats, premium sound systems, and a smart panoramic sunroof that can be electronically dimmed.

The new range is available now at Renault Ireland dealerships. The TCe 140 mild hybrid starts at €31,995, while the E-Tech full hybrid begins at €34,995.
