Renault is introducing a new lineup of camper vans and motorhomes, based on the Master van.

The Master is the big Renault van, right?

It certainly is, which means more room inside, and stretch-out space for the beds. Renault is partnering with Ahorn Camp, a renowned German motorhome brand, to create this Master-based range, and they'll actually be built by the well-known camper specialists at Erwin Hymer Group. The campers will be available through Renault Pro+ commercial vehicle dealers, as well as through Ahorn Camp's own retailers.

How much space is there inside?

Lots, and there will be a nine-strong model lineup, based around two distinct variants. There's a version which looks very much like the standard Master van, and which keeps basically the same rear body as the load-carrying version, while there's a second model, based on a chassis-cab, that gets a purpose-built living area to the rear.

What engines will these campers have?

Renault says that it's targeting best-in-class fuel efficiency for these Master campers, thanks to its Blue dCi diesel engines, which range in power from 130hp to 170hp, and to the exceptional aerodynamics of the Master design. There's also a new nine-speed automatic gearbox, more safety gizmos, advanced comfort seats for the driver's cab, and the all-important reversing camera.

How much will one of these Master campers cost?

Irish prices haven't yet been set, but European pricing starts at €52,800 which is quite reasonable. Expect to pay considerably more than that once Irish taxes have been added on, of course. You'll be able to take a first look at the new models at the Caravan Salon 2025 in Düsseldorf, from 29 August to 7 September.

According to Renault: “The new range includes nine motorhome models and two campervan models - each tailored to meet the needs of families, first-time campers, and seasoned travellers alike. Featuring state-of-the-art technology in both the chassis and the living area, the new line delivers a truly refined driving and living experience, offering comfort and a sense of freedom from the very first kilometre.”
