The 41st Special Olympics Summer Games took place in Kortrijk, Belgium and, as a long-standing global partner of the Special Olympics, Toyota provided transportation services and other on-the-ground support for the four-day event.
Toyota's involvement included supplying vehicles to transport athletes, staff and volunteers between venues. Toyota also set up a Recovery Lounge so that athletes could have a quiet space to rest and recover after competing.
Apart from providing vehicles and logistics, Toyota staff volunteered during the event by helping behind the scenes to ensure the games ran smoothly and that participants had a memorable experience.
Toyota has been a global partner of the Special Olympics since 2018, and the company sees this work as part of its wider mission to promote “Mobility for All” and to create safe and accessible mobility options for a diverse range of people.
Toyota also says its sponsorship highlights the value of inclusivity in sport and society more generally and that this direct involvement reflects its wider commitment to inclusivity and its “Start Your Impossible” message, which focuses on removing barriers and enabling people to overcome challenges.
